Our Mission

The United Community Martial Arts Institute, is a non-profit Martial Arts Family Community Center dedicated to peace, health, and safety.  We are locally owned and operated by volunteer residents of Rhode Island. We give a free trial program to anyone who wants to try our martial arts institute and scholarships for tuition to those families who need financial assistance. We follow the Federal Pell Grant Guidelines for our scholarship programs. Families earning fewer than 20K per house hold can apply and TRAIN FOR FREE! Families earning 50k or less family household income can apply and train for a 50% reduced rate! We also offer Frist Responder scholarships as well!

The organization’s Vision is:

1. To strengthen the minds, bodies and hearts of young people through Martial Arts training, because hard physical training leads to increased spiritual strength and patience, which in turn leads to the ability to make better life decisions. 

 

2. To deepen relationships between people of diverse backgrounds through hard training, an inherent ‘equalizer’ between people.

 

3. To strengthen American communities (starting in Rhode Island, (especially Providence and neighboring inner-city communities by thus strengthening individuals who might then serve as role models for other members of the community. 

 

4. Finally, to create individuals who are ‘community minded’ and open minded people who VALUE works for the sake of community rather than merely for personal economic and social advancement.
